That said... O.o why are you still around?
Hahax... but really, i'm going to back up my profile with a convincing realm of existence, aka, the seelie, unseelie and sidhe courts. Hence this nice post written to keep me on track as i provide comical relief for the 4 main characters. SAY YEAH!
Back to business...
Because I was so influenced by Holly Black, Feist and Eion Colfer, my poor little changeling (also their fault, usually I would have chosen some awesome shapeshifter thing) had a not so happy past. And because of that, my poor little changeling, is not on good terms with the sidhe. AWWW...
Even so, I'm using the hierarchy based off Shakespeare's a midsummer's night, rather than traditional faerie lore, since all the information i've found are about individual types of faes and not the system in which they reside. So, since I've read all 4 books, i have a very rough idea what my courts are about, who resides where and how they act XD
AAAANYWAYX.

*races listed are typical of the class they are categorised under, and does not mean that all of the particular race belongs to that group.
Sidhe - Magical creatures. Usually refers to the sprites and members of the seelie and unseelie courts, rather then their more common magical counterparts. Sidhe's usually use trickery and glamorie.
Seelie court - Also known as the Bright Court, this court is held by the Bright Lady, also known as the Bright Queen. Members of the seelie court are fickle and mischevious, and although not malevolent by nature, sometimes feast on human blood/flesh. That being said, most Seelie courts attempt to keep peace with their darker counterparts, by sending their paladin/champion, as a tithe to each other. The exchanged paladins are expected to abide by the laws of either court, never to return, until, or unless, the oath has been broken, or they are set free.
Unseelie Court - The dark courts. Led by the Fool, or the Dark Lady. These fae are malevolent, unlike their fairer counterparts, and are vengeful and evil. The complete opposite of members of the seelie court. Seelie court races and Unseelie court races are interchangable, the only difference is their affinity towards vengefulness. More often than not, members of the Unseelie court are adepts at the dark arts. The Fool leads the Wild Hunt.
Runic Magicks - Magick runes carved onto material, eg. rocks etc etc to form spell sources for users. Little/no magick is needed to activate them. Strength of possible magick that can be stored depends on the type of materials used.
The most common are small stones or rocks, their availability making them the most ideal. However, they can only be used to store low-level spells, and can only be used a few times. Ideal materials depend on the type of spells being stored, eg. Onyx would be compatible with dark magicks, emeralds would be compatible with earth/plant or healing magicks. Some gemstones, like Diamonds and Obsidian, both rare, are suitable for all kinds of magicks, especially those which require more then one attribute. Usually, they are used as materials for staffs and equipment.
Strength of runic objects is also dependent on the purity and flawlessness of the material used. A flawed material would be less effective, while an unpure material could be better for spells requiring multiple attributes. Adepts of the craft may pull energy from their surroundings, and create runes without the use of a medium.
Fae Magicks - Traditional fae magicks require fairy dust as a medium. Fae magicks are usually of illusions, mainly glamorie and trickery is used. Seduction and fear is also sometimes used. Generally speaking, fae magicks messes with the enemie/victim's perception and senses. Although considered novice magicks by some, fae magick is much stronger then the average illusion that most adepts of the monk/sorceror/witch/druid can summon.
Sorceror Magicks - Usually offensive, ranges from light magicks to necromancy. Can summon familiars, and magicks usually contain manipulation of the powers to some kind of effect. Able to summon and bind demons to their will, and have an affinity with mythical creatures, especially those of the night.
Puka - Pukas are naturally able to shapeshift into any creature, mythical or otherwise, including other fae. In doing so, Pukas' gain the abilities and disabilities of the shape they have taken. Eg. if a puka shifts into a goat, it can't sprout wings and fly, nor run very fast. During a shift, pukas are the most vulnerable, as they are at their weakest. This is also true for the period of time after a shifting, although recovery time is dependent on the individual. As such, most pukas travel in pairs and shift as little as possible.
Pukas usually have different quirks, that are inheirited through their main form, given through birth and always randomised. Puka offsprings usually show their main forms in week 5. All pukas are dark-furred or haired in their transformations, and although mischevious, pukas are generally helpful, appearing to travellers or prophecy fulfillers to guide them. Some pukas have a natural tendency and affinity towards children, and rarely would a puka abandon its child to be a changeling. Puka's are by nature family based.
